Microfluidic methods used in exosome isolation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Exosomes are important biomarkers for clinical diagnosis. It is critical to isolate secreted exosomes from bodily fluids such as blood, saliva, breast milk, and urine liquid biopsy applications. The field of microfluidics provides numerous benefits biosample processing, diagnostics, prognostics. Several microfluidics-based methods have been employed the isolation purification in last ten years. These microfluidic can be grouped into two categories based on passive active mechanisms. In first group, inertial hydrodynamic forces separate their size differences. second external forcefields integrated platforms actively other bioparticles. this paper, application exosome discussed, future perspectives highlighted.

Exosome isolation: a microfluidic road-map.

Exosomes, first isolated 30 years ago, are nanoscale vesicles shed by most types of cells. The nucleic acid rich content of these nanoparticles, floating in virtually all bodily fluids, has great potential for non-invasive molecular diagnostics and may represent a novel therapeutic delivery system. However, current isolation techniques such as ultracentrifugation are not convenient and do not r...

Progress in Exosome Isolation Techniques

Exosomes are one type of membrane vesicles secreted into extracellular space by most types of cells. In addition to performing many biological functions particularly in cell-cell communication, cumulative evidence has suggested that several biological entities in exosomes like proteins and microRNAs are closely associated with the pathogenesis of most human malignancies and they may serve as in...

Microfluidic Exosome Analysis toward Liquid Biopsy for Cancer.

Assessment of a tumor's molecular makeup using biofluid samples, known as liquid biopsy, is a prominent research topic in precision medicine for cancer, due to its noninvasive property allowing repeat sampling for monitoring molecular changes of tumors over time. Circulating exosomes recently have been recognized as promising tumor surrogates because they deliver enriched biomarkers, such as pr...

Direct Isolation of Exosomes from Cell Culture: Simplifying Methods for Exosome Enrichment and Analysis

Exosomes, (50-150 nm sized vesicles), are secreted by all cells and found in all body fluids investigated. Isolation and characterization of exosomes from cell culture systems and body fluids provide valuable information about the biological system. The level of exosomes in human serum will vary depending on many factors such as age, sex, time of sample collection (circadian rhythm/nutrition st...
